Get BotoxⓇ and Fillers Near You at Restorative Health
Forget what you’ve heard. Botox® injections do far more than reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on your face.
You may think that is its only achievement, but you’d be wrong. Sure, when BotoxⓇ was first introduced in 1989 and touted the ability to take faces back in time, that’s the only thing the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approved it to do. (It remains the only FDA-approved injectable for cosmetic use to improve moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles that is not a dermal filler.)
But as the years progressed, physicians and researchers have discovered that it can do so much more for us than simply hide wrinkles. You may be surprised at what botulinum toxin is capable of – and the BotoxⓇ services available at Restorative Health!
BotoxⓇ for Migraine Relief
Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. William Binder realized that his patients who received BotoxⓇ injections reported fewer headaches after treatment in the early 1990s. BotoxⓇ owner Allergan began testing the drug on chronic migraine sufferers and found that, yes, the injections did decrease headache days.
In 2010, the FDA approved BotoxⓇ as a treatment for chronic migraines. The procedure requires 31 injections total on various points of the head and neck, with results that last about three months, a far cry from having to take a daily pill, often an antidepressant or anti-seizure medication.
Can you get BotoxⓇ for migraines at Restorative Health? No. But we think it’s pretty incredible what BotoxⓇ is capable of!
BotoxⓇ Injections for Excessive Sweating
Like Dr. Binder’s discovery in 1992, doctors treating patients with BotoxⓇ to relieve facial spasms found that injection recipients experienced less sweating than before they began their treatments.
Allergan researchers jumped at the chance to review why this may be, and realized that BotoxⓇ was indeed helpful for people with severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis, a disorder characterized by excessive sweating on various parts of the body, including armpits, palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and groin area. In 2014, the FDA approved BotoxⓇ as a treatment.
While Restorative Health does not perform BotoxⓇ injections for excessive sweating, we do provide unique aesthetic BotoxⓇ face treatments that go beyond reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
BotoxⓇ Face Treatments for Gummy Smiles
When you smile, does your top lip pull up too high, exposing your gums above your front teeth? While there’s nothing inherently wrong with this happening, many people who experience it would prefer their lip to remain lower against their teeth, creating a friendlier, more welcoming smile.
Our medical providers strategically place BotoxⓇ injections along your top lip to relax the muscles, so your gums remain covered when you smile. The procedure also makes your lips look larger, an added bonus! Schedule your gummy smile consultation today.
While properly-done lip filler can look natural, it doesn’t always look that way on everyone. Your best bet is to visit Restorative Health for a BotoxⓇ lip treatment called a “lip flip.”
The lip flip does not fill your lip with BotoxⓇ. Rather, it curls your top lip slightly upward, making it look larger and more full without puffy or swollen-looking results. You’ll find this type of BotoxⓇ treatment gives you a natural-looking lip shape. Find out if a lip flip is right for you.
BotoxⓇ Eyebrow Lift
Rather than investing solely in BotoxⓇ for forehead wrinkles, a BotoxⓇ eyebrow lift promises more dramatic results without going under the knife for pricey plastic surgery.
During this BotoxⓇ face injection procedure, your fine lines and wrinkles become virtually invisible, and your eyebrows, which may have begun to sag as you’ve aged, are lifted back to where they should be.
People with hooded eyelids – eyelids that give a hooded appearance above the eye – may also see a marked improvement in opening the eye. The final result is the impression of a brighter expression and more youthful face.
