In 2010, the FDA approved BotoxⓇ as a treatment for chronic migraines. The procedure requires 31 injections total on various points of the head and neck, with results that last about three months, a far cry from having to take a daily pill, often an antidepressant or anti-seizure medication.

BotoxⓇ Injections for Excessive Sweating
Like Dr. Binder’s discovery in 1992, doctors treating patients with BotoxⓇ to relieve facial spasms found that injection recipients experienced less sweating than before they began their treatments.
Allergan researchers jumped at the chance to review why this may be, and realized that BotoxⓇ was indeed helpful for people with severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis, a disorder characterized by excessive sweating on various parts of the body, including armpits, palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and groin area. In 2014, the FDA approved BotoxⓇ as a treatment.
